One of the lesser-known forms of divination, the oracle of European geomancy emerges in the medieval period and is said to draw on the gnomic wisdom of the Earth and its elementals. A full geomancy chart (sometimes called a shield) produces symbolic interpretations of twelve different areas of one’s life, before synthesising a three-part answer to a particular question.

The geomantic divination system is made up of sixteen possible figures, and each figure can signal favourable or unfavourable outcomes depending on the nature of the question and even the eventual answer. A geomantic reading can not only assess particular life circumstances, but also trace the possible roots of such circumstances. When I cast a geomantic reading (or set a shield) for a client, I conduct an analysis of how various facets of the client's life are depicted and how these aspects relate to one another. 

Geomancy is an especially good form of divination for providing sophisticated answers to yes-or-no questions, as it is able to extrapolate wider contexts and provide a combination of straightforward judgments and deep themes upon which to reflect further.
